If you have curly, frizzy hair, maybe wondering if there’s a way to make it to work without looking like half your head was transplanted from a poodle and the other half is compressed into the shape of your helmet.
Curly hair and bike helmets don’t seem to go well together. But with the proper tips, tricks and products, you can be on your way to never having a helmet-induced bad hair day again. We have three ways to solve your curly hair and helmets problem.
Wear a satin or silk cap
Curly hair loves satin, and it should prevent helmet hair if you “plop” all your hair into the cap before you put your helmet on! Using a satin cap will prevent or reduce the frizz from rubbing. That’s in addition to holding your curls in a scrunch position. Any silk or satin cap will do, provided it fits your head nicely.
Utilize curl reviver spray
Though it’s not exactly new, this product category still doesn’t seem to be quite as popular or widespread as it should be. These mists, which revive curls and reduce frizz, it’s the secret way to make your wavy, slightly frizzy hair look totally intended and. BTW a super cheap option is to just put some of your usual products in a spray bottle, add a bit of water and go. Aliexpress has some really nice misting spray bottles for cheap, I recommend those over conventional ones!
Braids will come to your rescue
Braiding is an effectual solution to managing helmet hair. After a braid out when your hair is more flexible, you can get your hair to “lay down” under the helmet without too much of a fight using bobby pins. Keeps it super tidy for work and curls will look good when you undo the rope twist.
Curls are beautiful, helmets are safe. They can go well together.
